Land Surveying, Colac – Barongarook Bridge Replacement Project

May 20, 2020

Swanson Surveying was recently engaged to provide land surveying services for the replacement of the Barongarook Creek Bridge in Colac.

The project involved building a temporary bridge alongside the existing structure to maintain traffic flow through the centre of town.  Once the temporary bridge was completed and traffic diverted on to the temporary structure, the old bridge could be demolished and a new, wider bridge could be built in its place.  Our experienced team of land surveyors were on site regularly throughout the construction of this project, providing the following services:

  • Feature survey for design verification.
  • Validation, co-ordination and QA of design information prior to construction
  • Setout surveys for the temporary and permanent bridge structures and roads.
  • Monitoring surveys of the temporary bridge for any movement & settlement.
  • As-constructed surveys of the bridge structure and underground assets
  • Underground service locations.
  • Cultural Heritage Surveys
