Construction Surveying, Geelong – Boral Cement Manufacturing Facility

Swanson Surveying was engaged by Boral in early 2019 to provide construction surveying services on the Boral Cement Manufacturing Facility Project in Geelong. The construction works include a concrete clinker storage facility, multiple conveyor systems and new grinding circuit. The surveying services provided included:

• High accuracy control & level surveys;
• Hold-down bolt set-out;
• Civil and service set-out and as-built surveys
• High accuracy machine alignment surveys for the placement of mechanical plant and equipment.
• Laser scanning for volume calculations and as-constructed data collection.

Swanson Surveying has also been engaged by the project managers overseeing the construction of the overhead conveyor system that connects the Boral facility to Geelong Port’s Lascelles Wharf. To date, our team have provided set-out and as-constructed surveys during construction to ensure that the new conveyor system matches in well with the new Geelong Cement Manufacturing Facility.
