Asset Recording – Track Monitoring, West Tarneit Train Station

Swanson Surveying recently delivered key surveying services as part of the West Tarneit Train Station Early Works—an important phase in the development of critical infrastructure for Melbourne’s rapidly growing western corridor, designed to improve connectivity and ease congestion for commuters in Tarneit and surrounding suburbs.

The early works phase is critical to the successful delivery of the future station. It focuses on preparing the site, safeguarding existing rail assets, and creating a solid foundation for major construction to follow. Swanson Surveying has been engaged to carry out a range of specialised surveying services to support this stage of the project which includes:

  • Survey control establishment to support current and future construction works, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all project stages.
  • Track monitoring along key sections of the railway corridor to detect any potential movement or displacement during site activity. This is a critical safety measure during early works near live rail lines.
  • As-built surveys of existing rail infrastructure, carried out during night works to minimise disruption to daily rail operations and to ensure the accurate documentation of existing conditions.

Our involvement in this project highlights Swanson Surveying’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-precision surveying on complex infrastructure sites. By combining technical expertise with detailed asset recording and monitoring, we help ensure that new transport infrastructure is built on a foundation of reliability and accuracy.

Please contact Swanson Surveying today if you would like more information or to discuss your next asset recording project.
